Unintended eBay humor, Chapter 5.

Item 2240141986 - a genuine Assemite Kukri.

How can you miss this item, dude or dudette?

Bid now. Bid often. Don't miss this one!

:barf:

There was a knife in the pic? All I saw was a pretty set of eyes.

At least there's no cho creep.

Although the Carol Merrill/Barker's beauty wannabe holding it looks pretty creepy. :p

Does anyone know who would make this or why? Whassup with the vampire thing? Are KSO's just as good as wooden stakes?

Assam is a small province in SW Nepal. Main exports are reading glasses, overalls, and cell phones.

And fierce Assemite Warriors armed with Fierce Assemite Kukris (forged from the shattered weapons of Fierce Turkish Gurkas)!!!!! :grumpy:

OK, I went to the 'White Wolf' website. (Several minutes of my life which I'll never get back.) There appears to be a series of Role Playing Games where the losers *ahem* players can pretend to be rival vampire families that kill each other. Kinda like Bela Lugosi meets the mob, or the Hatfields and McCoys and Nosferatu. You can also get Assamite coffee mugs, license plate holders and stationery.

The impressive piece of pointy metal in the auction originally retailed for $149.00. There is an even more ridiculous piece of stylized scrap selling for $249.00, but it is out of stock. (No doubt due to overwhelming demand.)

I think we should buy one, and send it to BirGorkha as a special project! I'll start the list now.

Who wants one?

Creepy? That's not Creepy. An Ex-girl friend of mine looks like Kerigan "Queen of Shards" from StarCraft BroodWars.:eek: - Mind you that is now and not 3 years ago when we dated. Back then she was cute, now she is a witch with a capitol "B" and looks it. :p

Born of darkness ...
.................Driven by blood thirst ...
............................The
...................................Assamite
.............................................Dagger

is advertised on page five (5) of the July Blade Magazine in the lower right hand corner.
No website listed but... email:sales@procutdist.com is listed in the ad.

I did get this in a pdf file that says the kukri is not a toy but a real weapon that sells for $134.99 U.S.
IMO there's a very real possibility that this particular game playing could turn very serious in a short time if played by an unstable personality. :(

I think it's a rather pretty blade anyway.;) :D The pommel leaves some to be desired though IMO.

For the record, IIRC the Assam Rifles was Kami Sherpa's unit. Just wanted you guys to know, now continue to have fun.

Interesting how they decided that an "Assamite dagger" was to be of a khukuri blade shape. According to the "Vampire: The Masquerade" game fiction, the Assamites are supposed to be a Middle-Eastern assassin clan. Horribly overpriced though, but hey, you can always find a buyer for just about anything on ebay.

I guess they wanted a blade to inspire awe and choose the most fearsome chopping blade ever designed.

Assemite Daggers are now available from Atlanta Cutlery for a mere $139.95 + S&H! "The Assemite Clan is a sect of undead assassins - vampires who kill other vampires. . . . The massive 12" stainless steel blade has sacred etchings. Handle is intraicate cast metal [ !!!] with a vampire skull pommel [  !!!!]. . . . Includes display plaque."

At that price, you can get two! (We could use them as chopees in the next MWKK chopping contest.)

(And Danny, check out the "Ronin Ninja Ring" thingee at p. 55 of the latest catalog. Wowee! "Double blades make you doubly effective." :p )

Thomas, would it be possible for you, and say Beoram, Pendentive, Firkin, and Yvsa, to name a few, to invent a knife that does not exist, and then talk it up seriously in a forum somewhere to get people interested in buying one?

To make it "go," one would need a picture. Someone good with computers could do the necessary. :)
