Geez, two posts back to back tonight. I must be in a talkative (is that a word??) mood.

Back to the subject.

I was in my office (on the can) earlier tonight and I was leafing through the March 2001 issue of Blade magazine when I came across an ad for the new BM Model 690 with carbon fiber bonded to Dyamondwood (no not a spelling mistake, it's a registered TM) scaled, blue anodized double titanium lined beauty with a 154CM blade.

Sweeeeeeeettttttt!!!!!!

I don't know why, but I've never much been turned on by BM's in the past.
I think that this one's definately got my attention.

So is this post about the 940 or the 690? Both are great looking knives. I like the 690 for the wood handle and bolster. I would like to see more production knives use these materials.

Well Keith, you got me.

The post was supposed to be about the 690, but as we all will now know, I inadvertantly posted the subject as "BM 940."

Oh well, even "The Raptor" can't be perfect all of the time.

Raptor,I just picked up a 690 for myself... I bought it off a local dealer who gets all the first run stuff... It was too cool too pass up...

Man that 690 looks sexy... However, from the picture in the ad it seems that the liners protrude a little around the scales and bolsters. (like the tang on the Nimravus.) Now, those same liners are also anodized a really nice blue.... See where I'm going? Comfort issues aside, carry that sucker around for awhile and the edges of the liners will soon be a nice scratced up silver and blue mix. Can you say design flaw anyone? (I'm still gettin' one as soon as they're available, but it'll probably never get carried!)
