Wow, didn't know Leeks had damascus now

I have always loved the simple design and look of the Leeks but never got one for some reason. Right now all I own is a Benchmade 710D2, but I just browsed GPKnives and saw that Kershaw has a damascus Leek. I love how the damascus looks on any knife, and on a leek it looks amazing.

Since I can't search here, how is the knife? From what I searched on Google it's a typical great Kershaw blade.

How tricky is sharpening damascus? I'm going to have to get one of these.

EDIT: Just ordered one, hope there's nothing to regret...

Damascus is just folded/layered steel (often multiple steels), and I'm not sure sharpening involves anything significantly different than a single layer of one steel. However I haven't yet tried to sharpen either of the 2 damascus-bladed knives I currently have, one of which just happens to be a Kershaw Damascus Leek.

I can tell you it's a fine knife! I personally don't really like smooth stainless steel handles from any maker, so that's my only peeve, but I knew that going in.

This is Kershaw's most recent run of Leeks in Damascus...awhile back now they did their first. They also have a Damascus Chive coming out very soon with a Damascus Scallion to follow.

Ah, Onions...:D

Ray :)

Thanks, after reading about how well ThomasW takes care of people here and just Kershaw in general I didn't think I could go wrong. I've always wanted a leek and this one seems perfect for me.
