I'm in love!

Tonight is the first time I checked out this part of the forum. I can't believe what I have been missing!

I want one (or a few!) of these Khukuris! How often are "blems" listed for sale?
 
Welcome to the cantina. You are in the right place to be in contact with some of the best folks that I have run across in a long time. These are the good guys, and you won't find a better man anywhere to do business than Uncle Bill Martino.
There are very few straight shooters like him left.

HI Khuks are the best that I have seen anywhere. As far as I am concerned they are the best hand made knives that are. And, for the money paid you can't beat the price either. If you find anywhere that I can get hand made, well constructd, and beautiful knives like these I want to know where that is, for seeing only will I believe.

Most of the guys on the forum here will help you with good advice all they can. From what I have seen they will tell you good stuff too.

You may want to find one of Bill's post and follow the link to HI's FAQ. There is an amazing amount of information on there.

Blems are posted for sale virtually every day on this forum. But you have to be quick. There are certain individuals (especially a fellow Floridian) that tend to pick off the nicer ones within seconds. :)

It varies. Recently not so often--
Forum technical probs and the Uncle is moving his domicile.

Usually, items go up just before noon, Central Time.
But that can vary.
Do a search, whoops, Basic members can't search
till the overload is fixed.............
List all posts for the last 100 days
(option at the bottom)
then click on the Thread Starter column label
to resort the listing.
Then scroll down to the B's to find Bill Martino.
Most of the posts he starts are sale offers.
You'll get an idea of how often.
You should also check his web sites for standard models:

Once you have an idea what you like,
you might try calling him to ask about

Can't beat the HI khuks. Solidly made, well crafted and hand forged by the guys who know it best - master smiths in Nepal.
 
Well, the Ang Khola looks nice. So do the WWII and the British Army Service. Nothing larger than 18" I suppose.

1) write down his phone # and keep it handy to call as soon as you see one you want go up on the forum. If you have a speed dialer...

2) in lieu of that, compose a message and keep it ready to type in

( ...the one you want... )

and hit the send button.

Good luck. The great white sharks on this forum haven't really gone into a feeding frenzy for a while, but you might want to watch your hands when you grab for a khuk if you understand what I'm saying.

You will want more than 1 and once you have an 18incher you will want a big brother for it !! I just got a GS and all of a sudden the longer blades are my favourites !!
