Wow I never knew about this BM...

I have one, it is a nice solid knife. The only thing I didn't like about it was it doesn't have a lot of point, it is more of a skinner blade shape. Would make an excellent hunting/field dressing knife.

The huge logo on the handle and the fact that the handle is rather thick put me off a little.

I have a 722, black class, it's similar but the clip can be relocated to the 'correct' side :] and of course it's a tanto blade shape.

At one point they made a 721 which was basically the 722 G10 handle on a 721 so I am sort of on the lookout for one of those. (anyone selling one? drop me a message plz)

The 72x series is a great set of moderate sized folders built like rhinoceri. Awesome little knife.

Sadly they have been entirely discontinued, so get em while you can.

The only complaints I ever see about these are that the handle is too thick - It's just under 1/2 inch at the widest, the same as an AFCK. Another popular one is that the handle is too short. It's true, but on a 3.25 inch blade what else can you do? My first three fingers fit perfectly in the handle's indent, and the pinky curls around the last little nub.

It's great for utility, It opens up faster than any other folder I have, and I'd trust my life to it as much as I would to the AFCK.

Sorry, I just realized that my last post sounds like I've handled a BM 720 before, which is not the case - I should have made that more clear.

The handle just looks quite thick in the picture Fisher linked to. I like the AFCK's handle, so if the 720's handle ain't thicker than that, my impression was wrong.

I have a 721s, which is the same as a 720(s) except for the handle material...(G-10 for the 721 and aluminum for the 720).

It does look a little big. I never noticed the 72x series until I was at my dealer and had the 722 in hand. I liked it alot :]

Try this site, American Heritage Sports He has them listed as "While supplys last"

Good luck, a great knife.

I have a 721 I like a lot. Imho, I think it is one of the best of Benchmade. Enclosing a shot of the 721 with a 770.

I was wanting a 710 as my next knife, but I'm poor right now so it'll have to wait. I've never heard anything bad about them. That's a sweet knife, btw. :D

I really don't think the handle is too thick, I really think it is the perfect thickness for this knife. If it was thin it would bite into the hand, as it is now it is very comfortable, especially for hard use or if using the knife with blood/sweat/ect on the handle.
