WOW - I really like this Benchmade 525 - better than Griptilian?

I was about to order a Mini Grip - just trying to figure out if I should get the Ritter or D2 from Cabelas, but my friend just stopped by with his BM 525. Anyone have any opinions on the 525 and how the quality is verses the 556? I intend to carry it for my EDC. Thanks

They are both Benchmades. Quality should be the same. I bought the mini grip from Cabelas a couple of weeks ago.

IMHO the 525 is a better knife than the 556... 154CM vs. 440C and machined aluminum handles vs molded plastic. Of course you'll pay roughly $50 more for those upgrades in material so it's just a matter of whether the better steel and more durable handles are worth it to you. (not to knock the mini grip-I own a couple of them and they are great knives for the money)

How about the Mini Grip in D2 or S30V, you still think that the 525 beats it?

Steel-wise, it can be a pick 'em between D2, S30V and 154CM based on your own personal preferences, but I'd take the aluminum handle on the 525 over the FRN on the 55X, Much better feel and grip to me, built like the proverbial tank.

I got a BM 525 PE last week. It is a solid little tank. The steel liners give it some heft. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Enjoy!
