I have had the chance to own or try out most brands of knives, but was at the Badger Knife show and sale acouple of weeks ago and a member there let me check out his A100 . Oh my God now i see what people see in Emerson knives it was so smooth and made that loud clunking sound when the liner lock slamed over it just felt like real true USA quality.

The A100 is keeper for sure. Have you handled a (7) yet? There's a couple of the boyzz here, that would recommend a 7 to get you started on the roller coaster :p

Funny you mentioned that i just received an email from (xiuxiu1313) Carter said the CQC7 is on its way to me , no patience here on my end for a A100 to become available .

good luck! The one thing I can't stand about Emerson knives is that there are so many combinations on size, blade shape, color, finish, length, etc. that there's no happy place to stop buying!

Got my first Emerson, a CQC7-V a couple weeks ago. I am very impressed and the quality is certainly on par with my nicer Spyderco's and Benchmades. It has made its way into my 5 knife EDC rotation which includes Para2, Shirogorov 95, Shot Show Grip and another Para2. I look forward to the new models as the CQC7 is the only model which really excites me in the lineup right now. Although I played with a commander in person, photos don't do these knives justice, I liked it but couldn't see myself carrying it on an EDC basis.

As much as I bragged about my cqc15. I thin the cqc7 has won my heart. That full chisel grind is something beautiful, in stonewash and coated. Its simply amazing and I dont see why other makers dont also use it.

The A-100 is a sweet looking knife, but the only small gripe I have about it is that the thumb disc doesn't stick out enough to easily get my thumb onto next to the G-10 scale for blade deployment ---- even less so with gloves on. Anyone else have this problem? (not trying to hijack your thread)

To tell you the truth, I have more success with the disc, than say, the thumb studs on a Sebenza or Lionsteel.
Now,opening a Spyderco that's a slick as it gets. :p

are you talking about the A-100 or mini A-100?

I have that tiny gripe with the Mini (only one I have with the mini for that reason) and Its not because the disk doesn't stick out, its because the notch in the G10/liner isn't big enough. Can't get enough thumb in there sometimes. But the full size A-100 I have no problems with because its bigger.
