Almost blew the coating off my AK

Cool pic! I have family that live in the Sonoran Desert outside Tucson and they have told me about these dust storms. Awesome!

I was at work and heard a pop and immediately looked out the window, since that sound is the sound of our wall of windows flexing. Crazy stuff...

Dust and sand storms are something I don't miss about West Texas, it will literally blast the paint off your car with time. My truck is a good example.

That and biting down on grit after being outside, ouch! Its crazy when you cant see your own feet.

Yeah, it's a part of life here although the bad sand/dust storms aren't as bad as in the past. I blame the dust on New Mexico.

Oh yea! I hear ya! I went to high school in Anton TX in the late seventies/early eighties, when the dust was at its worst. Driving to school when you cant see the road in front of you is just plain silly.

I lived out a ways from town then and remember watching the brown/black stuff roll in like a storm cloud on the ground, creepy feeling.

My college days at Tech were much nicer, I dont know what happened between there with the farmers, but it got MUCH better. I do miss the red sun sets though, prettiest I've ever seen.
