It's a friend's knife, but it's so cool that I couldn't resist sharing.

See for yourselves . . .

It's a ZDP-189 model with new Titanium 6AL-4V slabs.

Thanks for looking.

My Dear Friend,

Truly lovely indeed! Care to name the person responsible for the conversion?

Inquiring minds want to know. :D

Wow:eek: I love it!. As far as you can tell from pictures the finish seems excelent. The only thing that bugs me is the pivot head on the back of the knife (without the torx hole). Why didn't they round it off:confused: Even so that is a very minor detail. Even the clip seems very professionaly done. I would wrestle everone on this formum to get it! What address is it kept at again >:)

Typically I'm not a huge fan of metal handles, but that looks awesome!

That's the nicest Calypso Jr. I've seen since the Micarta handled ones.

Whoever did it does some nice work. ;)

Looks like STR's handy work.

Thanks for posting some good pics of a great knife. Now if he would get it fizzed!

Looks like what STR would and could do, but I haven't seen that one. He ususally doesn't put those holes in.
Looks bad@ss!

Close. I started it out in life by cutting out the scales and drilling a couple holes because at the time I was getting requests weekly for these upgrades and had several sets already cut out ready to go. I only had one in .103 thick ti though and I sold them to a friend in Florida with the offer to bead blast and anodize it after it was done. Dan took it from there and did a fine job. Actually the offer to bead blast it and anodize it was just so I could get my hands on it to check it out! :D Kinda backfired though because all he sent me was the scales and the pocket clip so I never did get to see the whole knife first hand after he finished it.

That's freaking awesome! The goldish handles look great with the subtle compliment of the gold Spyder logo on the blade.

Thanks, Steve ! I had been wanting to convert my ZDP Caly to all titanium but did not have a bandsaw then. STR said he had one rough cut and offered to sell to me( great guy and kept me advised on things I needed to know) . . I originaly had this plain but for reasons known only to me, decided to drill holes to make it a bit lighter and more easy on the eyes. Guess I got what I wanted but I miss it as I was offered to sell. Got another on the way with titanium liners and part carbon fiber and ivory micarta handles. I will post when done. I still have one more CJ calypso I can mod later and maybe all titanium handles. I use .103 to make it as slim as possible and still strong. Thanks for all the compliments and STR! Also, I could not get into the forum(after the long blackout) with my original name( dannyv) so I switched to my real name, Alejandrino.I emailed bladeforums help several times and no reply, so I switched to alejandrino and it worked.

Sorry, Steve ! All you had to do was ask. Anyway, I did send you a pic after I finished but at a that time I had no holes drilled yet as it was an afterthought( I told you why).
