Folks!

Got a Silent Knight today, dating back to 1994. Should be A2-Steel and its blade is about 10 inches. Balance is wonderful! Awesome!

The coating was taken off by the pre-owner and it needs to be either polished or beadblasted. What do you think?

Great day!

lucky bastid!!!!!!!

Die Verkaufsanzeige hab ich zu spät gesehen.

But with a house under construction I cannot afford a new Opinel till the next apearance of the Halley comet

;)

I really like the profile of this.

I tend to prefer, less wide, but longer blades with a false edge meant as much for stabbing as for slicing.

I would love to see this re-enter production in Infi!

HOLY HOG!!!!! Where on this earth did you find one? Damn, congrats doesn't even come close :) My opinion? Have a realy good hand satin applied.

Dirk! You're high on the hog! That's a beauty. I'm with DN. Mirror polish the sucker!

Cheers,
BillyJoeBob :D

Wait a minute.......Are you sure that's a genuine Silent Knight??? I'd hate to see you get swindled. Send it over here so I can verify it for you :D :D

I think you need to send it to me, thats what I think, then I'll decide on what to do with it. How did you locate it?

Gratulation!!

The early bird catches the worm..

PS: Freu mich schon auf mein FSH!!

Woooooohhhhhh!!!

Incredible find! That is a really sweet score!

Give it a nice hand rubbed satin finish. That's my HO.

Congratulations!!!

Dirk, That's a beautiful knife & a great snag!! You sir, are ein richtig Uber-Hog!! A cloven hoof salute to you.

Now for the bad news. A knife as rare & beautiful as that one should be seen in a kinder gentler light (i.e. in diffuse indirect lighting, instead of the glaring direct lighting used). The hotspot of light on the blade tricked the camera into shooting a fast shutter speed, which still left the hotspot blazing white while losing into darkness all the detail in the handle material.

For many tips on photographing knives, including some easily-constructed light diffusion boxes/tents, follow the links from this knife photography compilation thread:

Gee Greg, I thought you were going to volunteer to take a properly lighted picture for him if he would send it to you, you're slipping!

WOW!!!

Congrats, great looking knife.

I'd be curious if there are any logo's on it and if so what style they are.

Also what are the specs?

:D:D

Thanks everybody, I hope you are all still staring at the pic.

I know the pic is poor, but I came home late, opened the package and thought about you my fellow hogs. I had to act immediately, right?

I promise to make better pics as soon as we have nice weather again. If you are all still nice I will even post them. :D

A german fellow offered it last weekend on the internet.

Good Night everybody.
Dirk
