My Father's fiancé (who lost her first husband a few years ago) gave me a couple of her late husband's knives as a gift.
Check them out (sorry for low res, just taken on my phone):

Needless to say, I had to explain how valuable these were, but she doesn't care. She knows how I love my knives, and is happy to have them stay with me. For me, a gift knife is always a keeper. Just never expected something SO nice.

I know that first is a Mick Strider custom. Is the second a standard blade shape? I'm not very well versed in all the Strider configs. Any info is super helpful.

Thanks!

Good score, DD! And I commend you on your policy of full-disclosure prior to accepting the gift...

Thanks for sharing with us! That Damascus Strider is a Grail for sure.A Mick Strider Custom..You need some more pics of that beauty. What I would give to have that... Take care of them!

Thanks for sharing. A knife really turns into something special when it has history, and especially when it involves family.
Good stuff! :D

I'm a broken record here, but I really believe the sprit that rests in that steel is special. Don't let those go.

Damn striders, now that she's set the bar that high you'd better ask for some crazy expensive knives from her for Xmas!

kidding

Yeah, she's aware of what they are both worth. She's just a really special lady. ;)

Her late husband had fantastic taste in knives, guns, motorcycles and guitars. My kind of guy for sure!

Holy cow... I've heard of people trying to make friends with their fiances children via gifts. All I can say is this would totally work on me :p

Seriously though, that's awesome. Sounds like really special is an understatement.

That's just amazing! What a kind and thoughtful gesture from her, and what a fantastic acquisition for you! Congrats, brother!

What a super generous gift. She is a truely great person, still gifting them to you even after you explained the value of these beautiful knives.
