Well I got home today to find a box from HI waiting for me. It contained a baby AK and a 16.5" horn handled WWII from the DOTD on 12/27. Now, my first purchase from HI was a 15" BGRS-V which is a great knife, but the sharpness left quite a bit to be desired. I have been working on it though and it's now more than acceptable. But these two khuks - like I said WOW! Razor, shaving sharp and just brilliant knives. The WWII feels awesome in the hand compared to the BGRS which feels a bit blade heavy, and the baby AK is just a killer little knife. Also razor sharp and fits my hand surprisingly well. I can get a 4 finger grip on it, but a 3 finger is a bit more comfortable. I suspect both of these will see plenty of use around the yard and kitchen. I am thrilled with this purchase and now can't wait to get my M-43 and Katunje special in a few days as well. Yeah, I got the HIKV BAD!:D

Many thanks and Happy New Year to Yangdu, the kamis and all the HI forumites.

Figured I'd gush a little more here after getting in my M-43 and Katunje special yesterday. The M-43 is just a beast and I immediately took out to the back yard for some choppin'. First the blade came shaving sharp so hacking through a 4" diameter Brazilian Pepper took only 12 shots. Smaller diameter stuff (1" or so) was felled with one easy wrist stroke. I mean it just sliced through the wood like warm butter. Clean, easy cuts, like it wasn't even there.

The Katunje has yet to cut anything besides paper and opening a few envelopes, but it just feels so "right" in the hand that I know it will get plenty of opportunities in the future. I really like this one alot and can't wait to give it some testing on stuff around the house, kitchen and yard.

So once again, a big THANK YOU to Yangdu and all the kamis working hard to bring us these marvelous blades.

Billy, Congrats on your latest blades. Sounds like you have a nice collection started. If you can, please share some photos with us. May these blades serve you well!!
