I recently bought a 16" chiruwa AK and an 18" GRS off of UBBB, and I wanted to say thanks to Uncle Bill, Yangdu, and company for making an incredible knife. I used the GRS to clear some fallen vegetation (thick brush and cactus) and it chewed right through it.

I am really impressed with how easy this blade just cleaves anything in it's way. After touching up the edge on a mousepad and sandpaper, it's screaming sharp. I gotta go find something else to hack apart now!!! Out of all my knives these khukuris definitely are the coolest, and I think I have a new addiction. Thanks Uncle Bill and Yangdu!!

Those are a great start. I do hope you know that two will never be enough. My Ganga Ram is one of my favorites (but they all are in their own way I suppose) wait till you get your hands on a 21". :)

Yes, I want to also say thanks to Bill and Yangdu. Wonderful products, wonderful service, a wonderful place to hang out. My life will never be the same, and that's a Good Thing!

6734, I am sure it's only just begun for you...I am sitting on 20 or so khuks and loving it! (It's a little uncomfortable, maybe I'll sit on a chair now :D )

I'm glad you like your khuks, Chris:) THe GRS is a great blade. I have it in the 22" version. It is hands downt he best chopper I own. Mark is right, 2 will never be enough. I thought i was done after 2, but i've now let more than 20 HI products pass through my hands at one point or another. I have no intention to stop anytime soon either:) Once you get hooked on HI, you're usually hooked for life;)

Wow- maybe someday I will have 20 khukuris, right now I am definitely in love with the two that I have!!!

I forgot to add in my original post that even though I have a bunch of "tactical" knives with black blades and synthetic handles, it is a nice change to use something made of natural materials that a real person spent a lot of time and effort making and even stamped their name on it - I think it says a lot. I'm not knocking the other "tactical knives" out there, it's just a nice change.

Great point. It's true of what I use in my life in general. How many handmade, painstakingly crafted things do I even touch? Most everything including the food I eat is mass produced. HI lets me feel like I am closer to real people and makes me feel connected. For me, it is a privilege to be able to acquire, hold and use HI products for this very reason.

In the last week or so I have waded into the "shark tank" and come up lucky. Snagged a 19" GS and 15" BAS, both by Amtrak. Compared to my other non-HI khuks, they are very nice indeed. I am officially hooked and probably have a terminal case of HIKV. The only thing is, gotta wait another month or so before swimming with you other sharks again. Pay off Visa card...must do. Wonder when my wife will realize that I hope to be on the one new HI khuk per month program?

Shipping from Uncle Bill and Yangdu was excellent taking only three days to reach me in distant Ohio. Kudos to both.

Seems the ol' HIKV is spreading fast these days ....

Maybe it is time for an official HI Visa Card, where we all earn points towards our next crooked leaf spring. :D

Another Ohio shark? Wonder if *I* passed the infection on....

It'd explain my recent loss of teeth in the tank...

When I was just a lad of ten, my father said to me,
Come here and learn a lesson from the lovely lemon tree.
Don’t put your faith in love, my boy, my father said to me,
I fear you’ll find that love is like the lovely lemon tree.

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

Beneath the lemon tree one day, my love and I did a lie
A girl so sweet that when she smiled the sun rose in the sky.
We passed that summer lost in love beneath the lemon tree
The music of her laughter hid my father’s words from me:

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.

One day she left without a word. she took away the sun.
And in the dark she left behind, I knew what she had done.
She’d left me for another, it’s a common tale but true.
A sadder man but wiser now I sing these words to you:

Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
Lemon tree very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat.
