carving wood, whittling stuff
So this is not a hardcore survival post but while watching 'law abiding citizen' I carved away a bit with my izula and it totally rocks.
Awesome control over fine cuts, very versatile in grips and it has all the right curves for the thing I was doing.
I made a very crude knife (actually, I hardly did any whittling before) after opening the book 'little book of whittling' by Chris lubkemann in the time it took me to watch the movie.
Now, after cutting and slicing the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picea_abies it was still shaving the hair of my arm. How about that!!!:thumbup:
And now for the review of the movie:
After seeing his family killed before his eyes, the guy decides to take revenge.
He sharpens his izula for the next ten years and... hehe na guys, you gotta see it yourself
for the experts and interested, the wooden knife is a drop point, hollow grind, with a back bavel of 30 degs and a cutting edge of 40 inclusive
Here's some pics, enjoy
