In cruisin another forum I ran across a post with
Walter Sorrells Website
and spent quite a long time drooling over his wares. I'm not into Japanese Katanas much but I do like the Japanese Tantos with a 7"- 9" blade.
On Mr. Sorrells Website there is a Japanese knife I had never heard of or seen before and it caught my eye because the edge is on the inside curve of the blade...

It is known as a Kubikiri, which is evidently an unusual form of Tanto. There is More info here. Where an excerpt says. "The term "Kubikiri" is traditionally translated as "head cutter". This style of Tanto may have been carried by attendants to high ranking samurai whose job was to remove the heads of dead enemies as "trophies of battle"."

There is always something new to learn about the most useful tool Mankind ever invented....... :)

Never been a fan of Oriental weaponry, but his work ought to turn some heads.

I love it all, but just can't afford it. This work is spectacular. I have been hoping for a matching katana and wakazashi from two different makers, but will have to wait for now.

On a completely different topic, Yvsa, I took your recommendation and ordered a bowie from Dan Brock...
