In cruisin another forum I ran across a post with
Walter Sorrells Website and spent quite a long time drooling over his wares. I'm not into Japanese Katanas much but I do like the Japanese Tantos with a 7"- 9" blade.
On Mr. Sorrells Website there is a Japanese knife I had never heard of or seen before and it caught my eye because the edge is on the inside curve of the blade...
It is known as a Kubikiri, which is evidently an unusual form of Tanto. There is More info here. Where an excerpt says. "The term "Kubikiri" is traditionally translated as "head cutter". This style of Tanto may have been carried by attendants to high ranking samurai whose job was to remove the heads of dead enemies as "trophies of battle"."
There is always something new to learn about the most useful tool Mankind ever invented.......:thumbup:
