Oops, sorry for the lack of details.

It was hand forged of 1080 carbon steel by Mark Banfield of www.banfieldblades.com.

The blade is just over 10", and the overall length is nearly 16".

It is without a doubt my favorite bowie, out of my entire knife collection. This is the third knife I have ordered from Mark, and he always does excellent work.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone.

Shane

Outstanding, beautiful knife! And excellent photos ..... you're obviously a man of taste in all regards, Shane.

Look stunning.

I would like to add a custom-made bowie to my collection in a few months after I finish my production knives collection (for the time being), and I think I may have found my maker (after looking around his page a bit).

Eye candy? That is more like eye cocaine.

I bet BIGUGLYTEXAN is jealous!

You won that bet!!!

Not just of that gorgeous knife, but that ain't a bad looking Ruger. Hell. I'm even jealous of anybody who has a log pileand a decent hat.

I really like your knife. It looks like it would have good balance and very comfortable in the hand.

That is one of the finest Bowie's I've ever seen!

It looks beautiful but not in a museum and white gloves kind of way. That Bowie is just begging to be used. I hope it does see some use because I'd love to read a review later. That handle looks like it will fit the hand like a calf skin glove and never "hot spot". No fatigue from heavy cutting/chopping. Even the S guard is smooth and round to accommodate any grip style. Matt forges a beautiful blade with a frosty hamon. And I'll bet it cuts even better than it looks. And there's something about a well placed fuller I love. Gets me every time. :)

Mark is also an excellent sheath maker as well. The sheath he came up with for that blade is fantastic. Interesting design, expertly tooled. I love that the belt loop mimics the shape of the handle. They compliment each other well.

I only own one knife by Mark Banfield (Kingwood Hunter) but I hope to rectify that "problem" soon. :D

That's also some amazing knife photography as well. I really like scenarios and props in photo's. Theme's if you will. Excellent work!

I'm not a big fan of bowies but that's a great looking knife. I like the handles, too. A shot looking down on the spine or edge to see the profile of the scales could be nice if you get around to it. That sheath is really nice looking, too! If you can get your hands on some strip leather shoelace, you could add a nice lanyard for the exposed thong hole.

That is sweet and the fuller looks great on that......did I mention nice hamon? lol really nice and you did a great job on the pics:thumbup: .
