Just received #337 Starmate, and all the superlatives wouldn't do this knife justice. Spyderco has definitely gotten it right. I was an early Military owner, and was highly unsatisfied with it and was hesitant about acquiring another G-10 scaled liner lock folder from them, but after reading the voluminous positive posts about the new Militaries and the appeal of a combo edge CPM440V blade decided to take the plunge.

You will not be disappointed with a Starmate, all I can say is WOW! I suppose I am like most forum members and have folders coming out of every draw, but the Starmate won't end up pushed to the back. It really is one of those few folders that qualify as the "uber" folder. If you can only afford one knife, get the Starmate. I won't go into the specifics of the knife as they have been covered at great length on the forum, but it feels a lot like similar Bob Terzuola customs and cuts effortlessly. Save yourself three hundred dollars and get a Starmate. Way to be Spyderco! Now I know why they take so long to ship, the quality is self-evident.

I'm carrying #330 right now. I'm waiting until after I've carried it for a while to make any judgements...

Great out of the box, though. Amazingly sharp!

Had one..traded it..Loved the blade and the lockup(and I have a distaste for linerlocks, but the Starmate lock was pretty choice),, and the fit & finish was darn nice, but the handle was as comfortable to me as a POed porcupine. To each their own. It is a great knife, just not for me.

#538 met Mr. Dremel Tool the day it arrived. Met Mr. Torx Driver later that night. Serving smoothly and comfortably ever since

I just ordered myself a Starmate (plain edged) to compliment my Military and Blue Native (once this arrives).

I like the design, and yes, true to the subject line, it's really WOW.
