Received my 18" Kumar Kobra by Bura, and I'm in love... Lightning fast, light, and lethal... Unbelievable performance for such a long blade... For a combat blade, it's awesome... Weight size-wise, from largest/heaviest, to lightest, I've got the Chiruwa Ang Khola 16.5", the Chitlangi 18", Gelbu Special 18", and now, the Kumar Kobra 18". Heavy chopper, to fast "Slice, dice, julienne fry- GINSU!!!"

Gonna have to seriously try to make a speed draw rig for the Kobra... Have also ordered John Steyers work on knife fighting... Have one already in storage in Maine, but want one NOW!!! It'll arrive on Wednesday...

This beauty is done with horn, and that's great as far as looks go, but here I need some serious consideration from you folks...

My hands sweat. Sometimes, LOTS... This means that the slick surface of the horn could present me, and perhaps innocent bystanders, with the possibility of an Uncontrolled, Flying, Object... or Khuk UFO...

What would you recommend for better grip retention? Heavy grit sanding of the horn? I don't have any way to checker the handle with me, although I have a Dremel tool with all that's needed to do the job...

Field expedience is what I need now... Any suggestions? Usually I only get wood, but sometimes, as you know, only horn is available... I'm NOT complaining...

Master Kami Bura really did a fine job on this one...

I have Raju Rasaili's work in my 16.5" CAK; Kumar's 18" Chitlangi, 18" Gelbu Special, Kumar Karda, and KJM-1; and now Bura for my new 18" Kumar Kobra...

Wonder who will make my 18" Sirupati? THAT, I'll order later today...

Hooked- BADLY- with HIKV, aren't I?

Well, I'd really appreciate the help with the Kobra, and Chitlangi, too... Looks are fine and dandy, but EVERYTHING that I own, that has an edge or goes BOOM or Bang, is combat capable, and that means "good to go..."

Well, got to go... My Brother is hanging in there, but his Father in Law is sliding away... Will be down here for a while, until after his funeral... Man, do I miss Maine...

Take care, stay safe, and have fun...

OH, and keep searching for an HIKV vaccine... PLEASE!!!

Sanding with a 400 grain worked well for me... It seems like the grip gets tackier when wet.

Nice collection Carter!!!! :D

I still need a Gelbu and a Kobra to round mine out.

Yep. I sanded my 15" sirupati (horn) and found that it made holding on to what was a smallish slipperly much easier.
