Wrangler Badlands Bowie?

I love the look of this knife and would also love to get one. But it bothers me that it is imported (probably from China?) and that it is under $40.00. Don't get me wrong, I don't like to spend more than I have to, but there is no sense to pay $40.00 for a piece of garbage (I am not saying that this is garbage, just don't know) when I could put the $40.00 to something better.

This response from the company (info@abktinc.com) regarding the blade steel:

"The steel is 440A, rockwell 56-57."

Wranglers line of knives are very nice looking and reasonably priced. They would make nice gifts for my boys. The Indian knives and the Chisum Trail are my favorites. I would like to know how they hold up.

Neo, I would love to buy that knife! I had my eye on it for a while but the issue is that the top of the blade is sharpened (I believe?). As such, daggers are illegal where I come from and I am not sure if this would be considered a dagger even though the entire top portion of the blade is not sharpened.

Charles,
I don't think it's sharpened.
The convex blade reminds me of my Fallkniven A1 which also looks like it's sharpened but isn't.
Actually the great majority of these knives aren't sharpened, daggers are illegal at many places and manufacturers know this ;)
Just ask Japaneseknifedirect, they are really very helpfull

I forgot to mention New Graham also has them as a Blackjack Grunt (smaller version) ;)

Neo, I am going to send them an email tonight to find out. If it is not sharpened, I am getting it!

I also have the Fallkniven A1 and know what you are saying.

Thanks!

I have both the Big Country and the Grunt. I just checked both of them, and the top edge is _not_ sharpened on either one.

Thanks for checking Popedandy, I really do appreciate it!

Now I just have to decide on which one to go with.
