I love my newly acquired HEST. It might possibly be the best blade I've ever EDC'ed. So I just got some new orange 550 in and was wondering who has wrapped their HEST and how.... There's gotta be some interesting ways you guys are doing this. Show off your HESTs!

Splat,

I've been so in love with the micarta standard on the HEST that I've not had the heart to wrap it. The orange 550 cord though is (IMHO) a prime wrap. It may not be tacticool but you won't be loosing your little buddy any time soon. I'm quickly becoming a big fan of safety orange. Don't forget to let us see yours when you have it wrapped!

God bless,
Adam

PS: I'd show you mine, but well... it's all normal and stuff.

Ok, so I felt like a heel replying without pics to offer. Here's two different wraps. Both of them are cobra stitches. The cobra stitch with the stitches on the sides simply makes the grip too long for my hands and is uncomfortable. With the stitches in the middle of the grip it feels much better but I really struggled to put it on like that. I wasn't really able to get it on tight as I like. The feel is spongy as a result.

Now I don't hate myself.

I wrapped mine when I first got it. The handles were so bright and I was used to carrying the Izula horizontal on my belt, work or home. Needed dark to blend in with the suit pants and slacks...so I wrapped it: (I'm left handed)

Eventualy, I got an AH-1 (from the forum here) added some other stuff, and put the handles back on:

then I started using it more - especially on dirty jobs...and the handles got nice and dark all on their own - now I really like it:

so yes, wrapping it is cool, and easy to do...but after I dremel-ed the arrowhead to fit...I like the handles on (for me)
I really need to paint those shiny screws...

Jumpmonkey, your wrap looks VERY nice - dang...!
