While digging around the house yesterday, I came upon my BK13 that I misplaced some months back. I hadn't done anything to modify it at all and it was just as it came out of the packaging on the day that I opened it. So...........I thought I would post this up for anyone who feels like looking at it or anyone who has any similar ideas for their own small mods. I should also add that I do not know the definitions for every part of a knife so if I label something wrong......I apologize in advance.
First, I started off with the factory knife and sheath.....
I cut a section of paracord about 3 feet long to wrap the handle with. I started with a diagonal cut and heated it just enough to keep it from fraying so that it would go in the hole easier.
After I got the cord through, I heated it up and mashed it flat. I then wrapped the cord up and over the back of the handle, underneath and back over the top.
I kept wrapping it in the same direction while making sure to pull the slack out as I went. As I neared the finish, I angled the end of the cord and ran it through the bottom hole of the handle.
Then back up through the top hole at the back of the handle. I ended up cutting off about 8 inches of leftover cord and then mashed the final end flat.
After I was finished with the knife, I had to modify the factory sheath so that it would fit. I cut a small notch out of the top of the sheath and the knife fit right in.
Thanks for looking!
