So my dad works at a printing shop. He recently showed me a wrench for a panel on the size of his press, the press he runs is a heidelberg. The top of the wrench has a bottle opener on it. I am wondering why it is there? My dad has been a printer for a long time and he has no idea.

Here are some pictures of the wrench.

Any info would be awesome.

Thanks

My guess is that it's a promotional item, sort of like an advertising knife (or pen, etc.).

Just makes a handy bottle opener for the technician who keeps it on their keyring...I've had a few of them during various jobs.

That printer uses large ink cans that need an opener, look like paint cans.
The square drive most likely fits the reservoir cap.

Just read these replies to my dad here are his thoughts.

If the wrench said Heidelberg on it he would go with a promotional item. But it does not.

I could not carry something so bulky in my pocket. But this is probably the most likely answer.

He is not wondering what the square drive fits. He already knows that it fits an electrical side panel on his press. None of the cans he uses requires an opener. He has been printing for 30 years at least none of the ink cans he has used or seen or heard of have ever needed a bottle opener type thing to open them. Only 1 type of can he recalls even needed an opener and they just used screwdrivers.
