The picture is from one of the more popular Chinese knife forums (knifriend) so I presume
the OP has just come from there to share the pic with us.

I'm not sure what that one is ?

The most probable thing is either the makers name, the intended use of the blade or an auspicious word of some sort.

I'll ask my other half when she gets home later. I suck at reading Chinese :o
 
HI, I am a freshman here. I just wanna show the pic in my first thread.

The character may means "suppress". when it is writen on the knife, I think it means "safeguard", "suppressing" ghost or evils...

it is a profound language. and like i said, depending on the context, there is no right or wrong (except it doesn't mean made in vietnam).

I wonder how the blade of this "suppressing" knife does look like. Any pictures of it withdrawn form its sheath?
