Writing on knife blades

Greetings
I am a traditionalist and prefer my knives without writing on the blades. Example: Cabelas "Pro Line".
Cabela sometimes has good knife deals on their Bucks, but I buy eleswhere because I don't like the "Pro line" advertising.
Question: Is there a way to get stuff like that off with out messing up the blade?
