Hi,

I have a Spyderco knife with SpydieGuys.com written on the blade beside Sal's own wee logo.

Is this a limited edition knife or is it simply a shop logo?

Cheers :)

Depends on your POV. I believe SpydieGuys had the knives engraved for them by Spyderco with their name.

Here are a couple of quick pictures. As you can see, it's a UKPK. The front looks to be the same as normal and the etch is on the back.

I wonder if they were a limited run or are all their shop knives finished like this?

Cheers :)

I've bought a couple Spydie's from them in the past.
No special writing on those.

I wouldn't want that advertisement on my blade. Spydieguys had nothing to do with that knife's development.

SpydieGuys are just a high volume discount Spyderco retailer that do a lot of eBay business.

It's funny to hear that people have dealt with this shop and their knives don't have the etching.

You'd think that all their stuff would have it! Maybe, as Deacon says, Spyderco etched some knives for them. Later, they must have decided to stop the practice. I dunno.

As for the looks of it, it's a cheap user so I'm not too bothered about the writing. Although, it does seem a litle tacky now that the idea has been put in my head :D

Thanks for the help

It's still a Spyderco ;) Have fun with it!

I think they did a few knives as an experiment. Not exactly a new idea, 15 to 20 year old Hoffritz marked Spydercos from time to time on eBay. But I don't think it went over as well as they hoped. You could always ask the owner, he's a regular on the Spyderco Factory Forum.

I've bought from them once or twice from the Bay. No advertising logo.

I'm pretty sure they prob had some done up like this and had a picture in there add showing there advertisement.

If they/or another seller didn't tell me about it, or show it in pic I would send it right back. I would want my shipping $ back as well.
