Anyone know of a badass fire tool set? I poke wood every day and my wrought iron pokers break. Do any knife makers also make fire tools? I want a poker that lasts. I don’t need an ax or splitter- got that.

I would find a blacksmith and they can make a couple pokers or whatever you want. They can be quite handy making simple steel tools.

Good question. My Jotul F500 is in full effect. I am seriously considering forging
my own poker since I use the craptacular ones currently. Timely thread.

How do you manage to break a poker?

I made one out of stuff from the hardware store-
3' of 1/2" steel rod, a 1" diameter spring, some washers, a couple flange bearings and a nut.
Its about 10 years old now and hasn't failed yet...

Actually, I have bought two really nice sets in my time, from local blacksmiths. I like them sturdy and simple, and local.
see if there's one or two near you and you can get them to make the custom changes you like, like a longer handle or tongs or a holder that you can hang more tools ( and knives!) from. They usually have some ready made pieces too.
