With this heading to California, I can focus my next couple weeks on Little rock.
The fellow getting this requested all of these components and configuration.
Laddered Ws, hot-blued blade, hot-blued "S" guard and Koa.

Incredible pattern in the steel, very nice!

Karl that is just gorgeous. I love the blade profile and the wide S guard........perfect!:)

I'm still playing with the photography on this one.
I just got a new camera and did something new this morning.

That's one of my favorites of yours.....extremely fine.

I don't know why but when I see it I think, "cowboy bowie" Just seems perfect! I love the look! Great blade shape and steel!

Karl, when did you start doing the screw down finial cover?

That is really slick. You should post a pic of one of the ivory ones. Do you still do the 4 pin nut/wrench setup? Also, did you press or mill the pattern?
Maybe 5 years ago. I don't do them on everything. I probably have 7 or 8 different variations of the finial.

Yes, I still do the four pin.

I've made the finial covers from sheep horn:

Fossil ivory:

The very same parent handle material:

As well as wart hog tusk, Micarta, Moose antler, etc.
