I am very new to this forum and WSK's. I was wondering why no one (well very few) people offer or have a WSK made out of damascus steel. Is it the cost, performance, etc... I am thinking of having a knife made and love the "look" the damscus offers, however if it isn't a good metal to use for this purpose I would do without. thanks.

there are damascus steels which are good for wsks - no problem to made, maybe only one problem ;-) the price - you need a big piece of steel for a wsk and thats not really a less factor to the finished piece

I plan on doing one out of O1/L6 - if heat-treated right...makes for one heckuva tough blade steel.

I think the cost might be $150 more at most.
