Have sharpened a knife with my BGA. The belly and tip are super sharp, but the middle/back of the edge isn't as sharp. How would you focus on this part of the blade to sharpen further without causing a lopsided bevel if ignoring the belly and tip since they don't need any further refinement? Thanks!

This is my opinion only... Sharpening inherently takes away material. If you need to sharpen more of one portion and it causes a recurve or unevenness then you'll need to grind the other areas as well to even things out.

Use the sharpie trick (mark up the entire bevel) so that you can ensure that you're grinding at the correct angle with every belt change. That way you can see if there are inconsistencies with your sharpening that is causing the unevenness.

I was surprised at how off I was with certain belts. Like shoulder only or edge only. And you might also have inconsistencies between left and right side. The sharpie trick should be able to identify these issues.
