Hey guys,

I've just purchased my first Busse a few days ago and would like to buy a quality sheath from an experienced maker. All suggestions welcome and appreciated.

Would also appreciate some input on the material recommended for a sheath that will see use outdoors and in extreme situations. I know that I DO NOT WANT LEATHER and that it MUST HAVE A DRAINAGE HOLE. Would love to eyeball some sheaths you guys have for your Geminis as well!

Was hoping to support a custom maker on these forums. Figured I'd try giving back after making many purchases based on the collective knowledge of this site.

My buddy has a Mashed Cat sheath for his TGLB and I really like it. Has a kind of thumb tab to push on so the knife will pop free without tugging on your belt until it breaks free. Pretty cool drainage hole too.

I have had kydex from Azwelke, Buy Brown, and Mashed Cat and although the quality was top notch on all of them...I much prefer Mashed Cat. Just one guy's opinion!

Thanks Engineerciv,

I've heard of that name before and am definitely going to look into it! I've had my eyes on some of Dave's work here, he just hasn't gotten back to me yet.

No problem man. Again, you can't go wrong with ANY of them here, but I just love the way Eric sets the sheathes up for me. He even called me up one time to tell me an issue he had with my Busse knife to see if I wanted him to send it back for me so Busse could take care of it for me. Awesome guy he is! Top notch customer service and product quality!

I have many sheaths made by the gents mentioned above and they are all excellent. One other option is if your after a user type sheath for a user knife, don't forget about Spec-Ops.

All the above make really great sheaths. If there's options or something special your after, they are all custom makers. I'm sure they can build you what your after. David owner Buy Brown kydex, did an awesome job on a custom drop for me on a sheath.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I've taken a look at Mashed Cat, can anyone explain the configurations they offer? Drop loop and dangler loop?

Please excuse my naievity, this is the first knife purchase where this has been required!

Ended up sending a message out to Mashedcat thanks to everyone's input. Going with the drop loop kydex once I iron a few details out.

Really appreciate everyone's input. Been a long time lurker here and have learned A LOT. You guys have also cost me A LOT of money!! But because of good advice, always money well spent. ;)

Sent you a email first thing this morning, I was out and about all day yesterday until late in the evening.
Congrats on the knife.
Hope you get what you are after in the sheath world :) Eric does great work and is a great guy.
