Hi,

I am looking to buy my first khukuri and would like to buy a used one to try and save some money. If anyone has a 16" to 18" WWII or AK they are looking to sell please let me know. I am looking for a "user" so scratches, etc. are okay. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome. You should really look around here for the deals of the day. That is when either blemished or non blemished products are sold very cheaply.

Bill Martino offers these usually between 12 to 2 PM Eastern Standard Time. There is very often several blades of the type you are looking for, and since most of the regulars already have those basic knives the odds are good. Check out the how to buy thread, though, before you attempt a sale.

Oh, and there's a forum policy for the sale and trading of merchandise and you should examine that before putting up any more posts, as I'm not sure you're in compliance. (never done it, myself)

What Munk said. You should try posting in the Knives, Wanted to Buy subforum of the Knife Exchange. There's no chance of a mod getting irked that way, and it is what the forum is for.

Munk and JR42,

Thanks for the heads up and the info. I will ask the moderators to move my post, sorry if it was in conflict with the rules. Thanks again and I will definitely be checking back for Uncle Bill's deals.

Oh, I doubt they'll reshuffle the whole board just to put in place a newbies misdirected thread.

Glad you're looking for a khuk.

At the thread starter's request, I've copied this to the WTB Forum.

I'm leaving the original up on the HI forum to let folks who might be interested in selling or trading with him know, for one thing.

I'm also leaving it up on HI so newbies can read and learn from this example. No harm no foul here, but it's tidier if folks go by the rules, once they've had them gently pointed out to them.

6734/Chris: WELCOME to the Himalayan Imports Forum, aka the Cantina and Stage Stop.

( Yvsa sometime refers to it as the funny farm or looney bin, but I've visited Lake's Crossing (( the proper name for Nevada's place for the criminally insane )) on my internship, to attend workshops, and to visit friends in there. And I've paid calls on friends resident in the Nevada Institute for Mental Health, right next to Lake's Crossing. The Cantina is sometimes pretty close, but no cigar. )

Say hello to Chris freaks - err I meant folks, yeah thats what I meant to say... ;) :p :D

Thanks for the welcome and the help. If we weren't crazy we'd all go insane, right?

Welcome, Chris:D
You really won't find a nicer place with a greater bunch of fellas anywhere on the net. This is the only place that I know of that you can visit for a few minutes a day (or hours as some of us do;)), and learn something new and exciting...EVERYDAY! the other guys are right. Watch for the UBDOTD (Uncle Bill's Deals of the day). He doesn't put them up everyday, but generally a few times a week he'll put up blems (Khuks will little scratches or teeny tiny rust spots or very slight cracks in the handles). They are still EXCELLENT khuks and beyond belief prices:) WWII and AKs are pretty common.
So stick around, read the FAQ on the HI website, use the BF search funtion, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Most of us rather enjoy rattling on for days about khuks and sharpening and alien abductions and bears (oh how we love bear threads:D) and just about everything else under the sun.
Once again, welcome to the Cantina.

Jake
