We wanted to let you all know (and hope that you'll share this info) that our World Trade Center Project will be coming to an end on August 31, 2005. If you know of anyone interested in purchasing the WTC knife, now is the time to participate. As you all know, this is for a great cause and we would love to see the project come to a close surpassing all of our hopes for it's success.

Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help spread the word!

There are three ways to place an order...

1) Order directly from www.spyderco.com

2) Call us at 800/525-7770 x 129

3) Call SFO at 800/828-1925 x 3

What is meant by "coming to an end?" I thought a set amount of knives were made about 2 years ago.

Does this mean they have been in constant production and now production has ceased? Does this mean they are almost sold out? Does it mean that they will be closed out and sold to Smokey Mtn Knifeworks to be discounted? Does this mean they aren't selling well and it's time to build up sales?

Inquiring minds want to know :)

I think that Spyderco should be commended for helping the family members of all of the Fire Fighters and Cops who were killed in the 9/11 attacks through the WTC Knife Project. Thanks to all involved.

You are correct, there was a set amount of knives (based upon the number of Souls lost). This means that as of September 1, 2005, you will not be able to purchase a WTC knife. There will be no closeouts, no discounts. Simply put, the project will end and our last donation will be made following that date. We are announcing this because we feel it is an important cause and want to be certain that anyone who wishes to participate in the project can do so. The project has been successful and we have been honored to do it.

I hope this has answered your questions and I hope you will pass the word accordingly.

Thank you!

So what happens if you have a whole bunch of knives left?

Are you allowed to say how many are left?

So we can still buy them up until September 1st (given they are still available)?

Yes, you can still purchase them until August 31st. Our hope, is that there will not be any remaining knives. So, we have not made a decision yet as to what to do if there are. If we have to make that decision than we will announce it at that time.

Thank you for your question and support!

I have a friend and neighbor (owner of Tomway) who was involved with this project with Spyderco. Cudos to Sal and the gang at Spyderco who worked on this project (trust me, it was not a piece of cake ;)). The results of those beautiful knives and boxes speak for themselves.

You folks are why this hobby means so much to me. (It is not the knives, it is the people.)

I already have mine, but I'll see what I can do... And I'm proud to spread the word. This is without a doubt my favorite Spyderco project!

I feel that what the Spyderco Crew has done with this knife is outstanding as both a memorial to those lost and as a comfort to the families of the victims. If Spyderco is to be remembered for anything at all it will be this knife and the effort put into getting it made. I applaud them all. :)

Thanks for the reminder. I ordered mine yesterday. I'm not a FF or LEO, but just the same, mine will be carried one day a year.

Thanks again Spyderco,
Tony
