I just bought what I thought was the most beautiful busse I had ever laid eyes on and it is a good looking knife and it will shave the hair off my arm it was sold to me as a cerakoted American flag ash1from the 2015 Atlanta blade show and I just scratched one of the stars off with my thumbnail! It left me speechless. What gives these things are bomb proof I had a battle mistress in the late 90’s crinkle finish. That was one tough knife! Was this a display only knife does Jerry make such a thing? I’m scratching my head looking for the fisher price label. What gives. If I’d have known it was so delicate I would have worn gloves when I set it in it’s permanent display case.

Like to see a picture of it, unless you have eagle talons for fingernails cerakote won't scratch off easily but it will come off easier then the crinkle coated blades.

I didn’t call the shop first to talk to Jerry. I shouldn’t have posted my mistake please ignore. Sorry nothing to see here move along…

Well, my understanding is the cerekote knives are cerekoted then hydro dipped with something else. It was this way for my antique bronze TRASH 2. Base coating should be tough as hell tho.

That’s a relief. The Stars and Stripes were cool but I can do without them it was just such a surprise the shock has worn off now I have put the paper bag I was puffing into away. I love the knife I just ruined the resale value but I didn’t buy it to keep in a case so I guess nothing lost. I can rough house with it now. Always wanted a steel heart and this thing is fat. Feels good holding it.

You obviously got a fake.. I'll kindly cover the shipping and dispose of it properly for you.

Hey now, I replied first. I get first disposal dibs.

I'm just a piglet who is switching to nights and forgot propper Busse Kin protocol.

Still gotta post pics. It's like the genie in the bottle except when you say the word "Busse", you gotta post a pic of it. LOL

There are some "how-to" threads here. There are also a few different ways to do it. I use an image hosting site called imgur. You can upload your pics there and then post them here using the "BB Code". Or if you get the Gold Membership here on this forum, it allows you to directly upload pics from your computer to this site.

I got the pics!. . . . And all I can say is Yowza!!! That is horrible!

The good news is that particular model was part of a small prototype batch done by another source who used a different type of coating than what Blown

Deadline uses and obviously a different process altogether.

That knife was not done by Blown Deadline!

Please return it and we will remove all of the coating and have the pros at Blown Deadline do it right!

I apologize for the inconvenience, and we look forward to making this right!

Please check your email my friend!

Let's Drink!

Jerry
