Three weeks ago I returned my new CSAR-T to Buck because of lock bar/centering issues. Buck Knives was great in that their head of US production contacted me. I explained the problem w/ the knife and was told a second generation model would be out to me soon. Well, it arrived today. My belief that BK would make everything right was right on the money. The CSAR-T is built like a tank, blade opening is smooth and can be done w/just a wrist flick. Lock up is tight and solid, but way easier to unlock compared to the first version. A new sheath was included (if anyone could use the previous model Buck sheath, pm me and I'll drop it in the mail for you... sheath is taken.) The 1/4 inch drive socket is cool and allows you to use the closed knife as a tool handle. All and all a very stout knife. I'll pick up a couple more for my brothers :) Some pics...

Very cool! As for the sheath, I'd like to take it, as I have been looking for a bigger one with a snap closer. :D

samhain73, sheath is yours. Saw your pm, don't worry about shipping. Just pm me your address.

stormbird - is there some indication of '2nd generation' on the knife/packaging or otherwise?

thanks-

Yes. The gentleman from Buck Knives ask me to read the production date that was printed on a sticker on the end of the box. My knife date was 02/28/10. As I understood it, this was right at the end of the first production run. The replacement knife had a end of March, beginning of April, 2010 date as I recall. I would guess that any knife dated after that would be the 2nd production model. But, call the people at Buck to be sure, they are very helpful.
