Rob that edge is sick! Mine came really sharp but that looks wicked. Did you do it yourself or send it for spa treatment somewhere?

Thanks man — haha honestly if time wasn’t an issue, I’d gladly oblige. Every section of the blade’s edge is hair splitting sharp. I like it ;)

Thanks man! I definitely do all my own knives. I used to do knives for others, friends, and family —— but then my work and family schedule got way busier than anticipated so I had to step away.

This edge is 15 degrees each side V edge. My mirror polished edges go through the following grit progression:

Diamond Stones: 50, 80, 100, 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000

Cermaic Stones: 1200, 1600, 1.6 micron, .4 micron

Balsa Wood Strops: 5 micron, 3.5 micron, 1 micron, .5 micron

Final Strop: Shell Cordovan Leather

Must pass the hanging hair test along every part of its edge. Scary sharp ;)

Very nicely done — I too have a sharpened SAR 3 and it is one of my favorite edc knives. Stout, compact, and sharp! Cheers!
Thank you, but I cannot take credit. That was the edge on the knife when I received it from @Khanvoy44 . I do not know if he applied it, or a previous owner, but it sure was pretty.

Thanks for the run down. What system are you using? Cause thats hella extensive

I know this pic sucks but to see it looked freaking cool- I saw this post this morning and decided to try to get a shot of my TG M I've worked on some. I laid a lot of angle on it, can't be specific but lets say, a long, long time just working a coarse diamond.. Worked it up to 2000 but can't go any farther with my current equipment (solution coming soon)
I tried all kinds of things to put it against but nothing was awesome until trying the candy box looked like fire! Someone should try this for a proper pic- I was on my first cup of coffee, cut me some slack LOL!

Hey brother — it sure does take a long time. However, once the initial work is done — maintenance over the years is effortless.

I used the Wicked Edge Field And Sport Pro model from years ago. After the guided system — I use a Shell Cordovan Leather Block strop for final polish.

There’s something to be said that after anyone examines and/or handles one of my knives — they emphatically claim it’s the sharpest knife they’ve seen.

If you enjoy the sharpening process and if you enjoy highly optimized knife edges — it’s perfect ;)
