I bought some old knives this week, and the most intresting one is marked NEFT SAFTEY HUNTER on the blade. It also has patent dates from the 20's on it. It is a folding knife, 4" drop point blade(?) The blade says "SAFETY HUNTER". The handle appears to be aluminum, with black bakelite grips. The grips say "NEFT SAFETY KNIFE" It hinges on one end and opens when the shield button in the middle of 1 grip slides back. The blade then is manually rotated out, and the whole thing locks when the hinged grip is then closed. Its in excellent condition.
The next one is a Large Marbles Hunting Knife (looks similar to a KBAR)MINT everything with a mirror polished blade. Has a 6" or so blade and its original sheath. Antler on the end of the handle, and leather spacers make up the handle. It has a rather wide blood groove as well.I am guessing that this knife is from the 40's
It is in absolute mint condition with no wear.
Next is a VG condition , large LL Bean pocket knife. It has yellow bakelite grips, a 3 1/2" thin blade and the 2nd blade is a fish scaler.
Not being a knife person (YET!!!), these knives seems very old(30's or 40's?.
Any information on age and value would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Nate
