For Sale: An extensive collection of the classic Benchmade 690 series. Designed by Allen Elishewitz, the 690 was introduced in 2001. It has become one of the most enduring examples of Benchmade's collaborations with custom designers, and is considered by many to be their finest "gentleman folder."
The 690 was originally offered with rosewood and carbon fiber handles, a 154CM blade, and dual blue anodized titanium liners. But many limited edition variations have expanded upon this core design, employing more exotic handle materials such as maple burl, bluewood, various forms of micarta, and damascus blades. The 690 series also offers Benchmade's BC1 boron carbide blade coating, which is renown for its scratch resistance
Among its many accolades, the 690 Series received the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence "Knife of the Year" award in 2001. And unlike many of Benchmade's other knives, the 690 Series employs the familiar locking-liner mechanism rather than Benchmade's AXIS system.
A complete photo album of this collection of eleven knives is available here.
Buy one, or buy them all! Each knife is uncarried and in "collector condition," but examine each photo to verify the precise condition of a particular knife. Paypal is preferred (with no surcharge), and shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail. A shipping surcharge may apply if sales are accepted outside of the USA. Here are the details on each individual knife, along with pricing:
