if any mods can confirm for me: I had a WTS ad on the individual auto section. I met all requirements including pictures showing required information (date, username, bladeforum) for all the knives pictured but I'm guessing since I didn't include that hand written info in the closeups of individual knives that's why it got removed. Anyone around that can confirm that's why it was removed or if I failed to meet some other requirement??

Thanks
Alan

Alan, I wrote a note when it was moved offline, and the system should have alerted you either with a message or email.

In any case, the reason why is that members may not sell on behalf of others. Everyone who sells in the Exchange must have their own account. (Gold or higher in order to sell.)

You can certainly assist your late friend's family with their posts and sales, but you cannot sell on their behalf from your account.

Sorry you didn't get the appended message earlier. (And your thread was moved offline, but not deleted.)

There must be some mistake. I said that's where they came from. NOT where they are currently. These are mine, in my possession, being sold by me and for me. And no I didn't get a notification or message about it being removed. Hope that clears up any concerns.

I'm not sure what offline means. I appreciate any help.

Okay...here's where the confusion lies:

You stated...

this collection is from a friend of mine who passed away a few months ago (too young by the way). He was an avid collector of bunches of things mostly gun related but there was a spot in a safe just for blades. Family kept a few and I've sold a few locally but this is the remaining lot

The way I read the original post, it was in not made clear that you now "own" these knives.

The "family kept a few" and you "sold a few locally", which sounded as though it were being done on their behalf to raise funds, as a friend of the family. For our purposes, it doesn't only matter if they are in your possession, what matters is who owns them.

So, you are stating that these knives were either purchased by you from the family, or gifted to you by the family, and that any proceeds deriving from their sale are entirely yours?

(Also, unrelated to the above specifically, but...all prices must be "complete" in that they include shipping and any other incidental charges. No add-ons are allowed per forum rules. Just wanted to get that out of the way as our membership will be reporting it to staff.)

Holy cow....I simply meant that's where they came from as provenance of why they were sitting around still new. Yes the family kept a few and since I bought the collection yes I've sold a few locally to some friends. If what you require is confirmation that they belong to me then yes they do.

Hope that clears up any concerns??

Yep.

I'll restore the thread. Please make the necessary changes to the post regarding complete prices and any other requirements as listed in the rules for the Exchange at the top of the page.

well....my post for the autos and the post I had in fixed blades both seem to be gone now. I made changes that should have fixed the problem of any ambiguity of ownership and I fixed the pricing to include shipping. I don't understand why the posts are gone now.

The system software holds posts for moderators to approve early on to avoid spam or worse. (We have no control of the algorithm until it releases the member from further initial scrutiny. I'll have a look.)

ooohhhh.....maybe it flagged my updates for moderator approval. I'll go jump in the pool for a while and come back and check it all out. Thanks for the response.
