They were a pretty basic and standard design. I think Rhett Stidham had a set for four once for $500.00 each. I could not dicker with him.

The reason I Asked I seen a set of 4. Two where marked ww cronk and two just had the letter c.

Was the knives just marked with the letter "C"

You would have to read the knives and see if they were all exactly the same. That is why I preach to these new makers to put their name on their knives. I guess it depends on price. The WW Cronk ones would be worth something. The others would depend on what records he had to prove that they were made by Cronk.

Thanks for the info Bobby. Do you know of any other makers that used the letter c for a mark?

No, that is the down side of collecting. It could be anyone. I'd love to see pics. I don't know what is happening with Rhett's store since his death, but you may give Janie a call and maybe she still has them and can send you a pic of the set. I know I saw a throwing star marked WW Cronk. Ask the guy why they were not stamped with his name. If he bought them from Bud, he should know something. Sometimes, you have to play detective. That adds to the thrill of the hunt!!!

I recently sold a throwing star from Cronk. It was stamped "SNOWFLAKE" and had the maker's stamping w w cronk. I sold it for $475 to a collector who purchased several more Cronks from me. The coolest Throwing Star is pictured in one of his catalogs, and it is etched by Shaw Liebowitz. Most throwing stars were simply a solid star or the outline of a star with the maker's mark w w cronk. Gary J.

Six year old thread. Just like the Cronk England threads, too old to put a bunch of 'em up again. Mods pls
