Arms Collecting magazine is publishing my WW I kukri article along with requisite photos. The cover shows Gurkhas at Hampton Court in England, 1902. They are from the then named 2nd Gurkha Rifles (Prince of Wales' Own, The Sirmoor Rifles). The knife is a Mk II marked 1917.

... On getting published.

Do you have a telephone number for the magazine?

N2S,
Publisher's name is Jim Gooding. 613.393.2980. You may want to try his email.

Thanks for the 'congrats'. I hope to discover some new sources after this gets read.

Congrats!

I'll have to keep my eye out for that one. Looks like it will be hard to miss.

Will

And harder to find Will, that's why I posted a way to contact him. I have only seen the magazine for sale at some of the big shows like London Arms Fair and Baltimore.

Thanks again for the accolades, but it's only a couple of pages. At least it will be getting some kukri history into the archives.

I sent them an email. Let's see what they say.

John, do you know which issue your piece is going to appear in? I want to make sure I don't miss it.

I think Jim said February, but it has already gone to the printer. Let me know what you think if you get the issue.

Mr. Powell, youre much too modest. Im sure this article will be a classic. I have articles from various magazines on Moro swords, some very old, some relatively new, and it is amazing how much they go for, and unless its a real big magazine its often real hard to find back issues. I would suggest to anyone who truly love these knives to buy a couple of issues. Im sure once your book comes out, anyone with a copy will read it, and say to themselves I remember when he first printed that article, and cherish it even more. Then again, I for one value knowledge as much as any sharp and pointy thing, though I never say no to either.

JP,
You are much too modest!!Most people do not realise what it takes to get an article published, you don't "just" send an article in &
BAM,it gets published!! "Article has to be good",I'll start looking!
jim:cool:

Feeling on top of the world, eh, John? Well, you deserve it!
Congratulations.

The lads in Kukri Land salute you.

Bill,
I only got $25 for the article but $25,000 for designing the cover.

Jim, I guess it's good to be naive since I thought all you had to do was send in the information and bing-bang, published! Then again Gourmet, Car and Driver and Vogue did reject what I sent them.

Thanks again for the nice words and I hope to have a few more kukri articles published by Arms Collecting if there is enough interest.
