a friend of mine lost his fathers paratrooper switchblade knife. his father acquired it as i understand from his service in the war. his father is deceased now; he has lost it and it is my goal to find a replacement. he took it out to use it while fishing and somehow walked away from it.

i have seen some reproductions that are currently being produced for about $60.00. they come in several different colors but i am searching for a bone handled model. to find an original might be the only chance i have. so i am looking for ideas or leads from this vast network of experts. if you have any ideas please enlighten me.

thank you in advance.

Is the Schrade M2 single-blade "Presto" Switchblade what you're looking for?
Do a search on it. They can still be had........if you're willing to spend the
money.

I have a Schrade Cut Co. bone paratrooper, and a Presto in bone. I would never use either one for a fishing knife.

bone handle autos of this genre, in good shape seem to start at 600$ if he's that good a buddy, spend the money.get a knowledgeble buddy to check it out 1st.

Dang I'd like one of those. I love the part in episode one of Band of Brothers when Joe Toye pops the blade out of his jump knife and says "I'm glad we're going to Europe.. Hitler gets one of these across the wind pipe, Roosevelt changes Thanksgiving to Joe Toye Day, and pays me ten grand a year for the rest of my f***in life.."
