I have had this knife for a few years. Picked up in a trade. Looking for any info on it and it maker. I know WW Hood was knife maker in Texas who was also a metalurgist.

Welcome to Bladeforums makster.

The design is a Scottish dirk known as a Sgian Dubhs. It was a knife carried/worn in a stocking, and typically had some form of semi-precious stone set in the pommel.
