bill,

just wanted to let you and everyone else know that ww2 you sent came in today, well came in friday but the devious postal people hid the slip underneath the junk mail I've been refraining from taking out of my box for the last week or so, anyways picked it up today, and my first reaction was damn its so tiny (that's what comes from getting the 20in AK first) second reaction was wow this is beautiful, very graphic design must say, next of course I had to try it out a bit running through my angles of attack and all, took me a bit of time to get used to the difference in balance but now the thing handles like a dream very nice, I also had to play with a little which brings us back to the thread on organs for khukuris, if I dont (quickly) get it into my head that I do not know how to juggle I might soon be offering a foot or at the least a toe for sale

this bizarre juggling fixation has already cost me a coffee pot and a good size chunk of couch. I'll relate more on it once I get a chance to chop things with it, now back to my exams.

again, thanks,
crow

hey crow IMHO everyone should start with the 20"AK. What a strength builder! I understand about the donating things to "knife play" (there's an oxymoron) I have had to explain a few minor infractions to the wife over the years. I have a friend who is a Shotokan practitioner and he destroyed a huge mirror he had specialy ordered for his Dojo. He was leaping and at the same time snapping a pair of kama between his legs. Cool move but this time one of them slipped and sailed into his mirror! Not on a corner either about a foot off center, ruined it!

bill,
just realized I forgot to mention one of the things that really caught my eye, the sheath and the frog on this one is really excellent IMHO, very comfortable on a belt as well.

RogueEMT,

I have to agree about the 20" AK, working out with that makes everything else so much easier, when I first got it and started swinging it around ouch boy did my arms get sore developed alot of additional wrist strength pretty quickly so I can control the beast. My AK and my african axe are definatly two of my favorite ways to train certain things.
As for your shotokan friend, wow what an image and those mirrors dont come cheap!

Thanks for the comments on sheath and frog, crow. The sarkis will be happy to hear this. Quality continues to go up in all departments. But if you think that one is good take a look at the Sanu BirGorhka -1. I'll be posting pix later today or tomorrow. Best yet.

Crow, what is an African ax?

I find the 20" AK (mine is 22") easy to use except my fingers get tired.

Will

It's basically a heavy club with a metal spike driven through it and flattened,
looks alot like this one http://www.antiqueswords.com/gn102.htm
but about 10" longer or so and with quite a curve to the body as well, kind of an awkward balance. My brother picked it up for while on a trip to south africa.
