I just happen to see this on a major E auction site. It sold for $296. I bought one from a site in England, back in the early 70's. I think it was $11.00. A few years or so, later, I find out, it is a FANTASY knife. I sold it for $25.00. I understand that this pantograph knife was never made by the Germans in WW2.

Are you talking about German paratrooper gravity knives form WW2? As far as I know (which isn't much), those were indeed issued and are valuable to collectors if they bear the right marks and waffenampt.

Fliegerkappmessers are interesting, but since I'm not a collector I've never been inclined to pay the hefty price a LNIB one costs (I've seen very nice ones with matching numbers go for $1000 or more). The few modern reproductions I've handled weren't impressive.

If you refer to those weird looking $10 knives that look like a balisong with too many extra parts that seem to be all over the web (and not exactly at reputable on-line stores that sell to knowledgeable collectors), yes those are a waste of money. Fantasy items.

Yes, I am refering to the PANAGRAPH knives. I had the Gravity knife. The one on E was the multiple folding one.

These are fantasy items.

N2S thank U for posting a picture of the item. I don't have the knowledge, at this time, or maybe never, to do it.;)
