Have had this knife since 2000 when my grandfather passed away. When we were helping organize everything for my grandmother we found this knife and some other items definitely from when he was in the south pacific fighting the Japanese. Thought of this knife today pulled it out snapped a few pictures and was hoping for any additional info or where I might find it.

Absolutely no markings anywhere on the knife.

I'm guessing it's homemade buy your grandfather or a military buddy of his. Wasn't uncommon at all for guys of that generation and especially during the war to improvise and make stuff they couldn't get any other way. My grandfather served on a submarine (same war) told us countless stories of homemade booze made from torpedo fuel and fruit to tools that made they're job easier.
Regardless a great piece of family history. Keep it with your most prized knives.

Okay, thanks for the responses. I guess if anyone was going to recognize the knife as a actual combat knife made by the Japanese it would be here.
