i managed to pick up a couple of camillus knives today for rather cheap. one is defiently a ww2 us m3 and the other is a camillus m2 BUT i dont know if its a ww2 knife or not. so ive got two questions.

the leather has shrunk a bit in the m3, is there any way to oil them to tighten them up?

also the mk2 his marked with us camillus N.Y. on one side of the blade and no other markings any where else on the knife. about when could this knife have been made?

if the leather is dryrotted theres not much that can be done. you might try some lexol leather conditioiner that comes in the brown container if its not dryrotted. if its dryrotted it will need replaced. i have redone quite a few leather washer handle knives and its not that hard just time consuming.
