Just curious about how much a ww2 Gurkha knife is worth if anything these days? One I have I inherited from my dad, it's one he carried during the war in india/burma theater with the army air corp. It's in pretty good shape considering it's over 65 years old.
The only thing marked on the blade is "made in India", still got both the skinning knife/sharpener and the blade/leather are both in decent shape even for being carried in the jungle for 3 years. The knife spent more then 40 years in a bottom dresser drawer with my dad and the same the last 21+ years with me.
Nothing fancy, just a plain kind of knife but is was my dads.

It will be kept in the family......just need to know for insurance purposes!

Borrow or get yourself a camera then because without pictures, as far as the insurance companies go, it never existed.

India produced millions of khukris during WWII and military issue patterns all had procurement markings and year of fabrication on them. Yours is probably an aftermarket model widely available to the troops.

Unfortunately, because of this, yours probably does not have much monetary value, nor collectors value. These bring-backs are selling for under $50 in England (where most of them ended-up).

Since you plan on keeping it, just make sure your home never catches fire!
