Here's a pic of a couple of veterans that are in my possession. I really like WW2 era hardware. Perhaps because my parents, may they rest well, were both in the uniform during that conflict. Anybody else have any WW2 stuff?

I am working on my picture taking and posting skills.
I have a better shot of these if someone wants them in email.

That's a pair I'd trust my life to...

Thanks!

I guess I've got the most important WWll stuff of all; my old man enlisted just before the conflict ended.

Beauties. What an honor to have. Me like very much.

I also have a WWII Khuk. I'll post a picture of it later, can't get to it on this computer.

I've got an Iron Cross, an SS deaths head ring both from my grandfather, he also used to have a german officers cerimonial dagger not sure what happened to it. I've also got some sand from Juno beach from when my grandfather landed on D-day. I have a telegram saying that my great uncle had been shot down (over berlin). I think thats about it for my ww2 stuff.

I haven't done much with the khuk, other than oil it. I did not attempt to clean or polish it. Just oiled the blade and buttplate, making sure there was no active rust, and put some hooflex on the handle.

The 1911A1 is all Colt, not some armory mismash. It has the inspector's cartouches in all the right places, etc. It's really an excellent shooter. Hell, I carried it for a few years after I got it. That was in the early 80's. Now the originals are too few to do that with, I guess.

I guess I know more about firearms and knives than I do about takin' them thar pictures! But I am trying. I am working on a ductape and cardboard lightbox now, so maybe things will improve.
As far as my motorcycling skills...well, its like sex.
I may not be any good at it, but I sure enjoy the heck out of it!

Very nice, Mike. I share your interest for WWII items. My Dad fought in CBI and worked on the Lido-Burma Road. He never talked about it though. Dad's gone. I wish I knew more.

I now have a few war souveniers Dad brought home. I've attached a few pics. Many of the guys have seen them before.

The old man landed at Normandy. Omaha Beach. He said that all the Germans were ten feet tall, and that they were all shooting at him.

There were other stories...I won't tell them all now.

I wish he was still here.

This one is marked 'United States Property' and 'US Army'. I have a tan leather holster too similarly marked.
