Photos WWI Knife and sheath? Please help identify.

I believe it is a German bayonet of some sort. I am not sure if it is WW1 or 2 but I imagine it was probably manufactured at around the samentime as its corresponding rifle.

Now I believe this is a Kar98 bayonet, they chopped that extended guard off most of them at some point in history.

Now I find it very weird that yours has no markings. Also noticed yours has the slot at the butt to attatch to a rifle but no button at the butt. I find that strange and have no explanation other than maybe it is a reproduction?

The KS98 Mauser Bayonet (1939-ish) has no extended guard to chop off. Only a bottom guard. I am going with a short/dress version on that KS98 bayonet.

The bottom guard is the extended guard I was talking about. Alot of k98 bayonets look similar to this one except with that bottom guard chopped down.

If it were "official" German from NAZI era, it would have Waffen stamps with swastika. Otherwise commercial made and purchased dress bayonet from that era.
