A couple of weeks ago I was camping at Camp Blanding outside of Starke, FL. I heard the drone of a "large" prop plane flying overhead. I looked up and holly cow, it was a B-24! One of only about 5 that are flying today! The only pic we got was after she flew over us. She was flying about 300 feet off the deck. What a sight!

Hey not too far from me! Nice looking plane what a sight!

Yeah, I was surprised to see a B-24 flying. I have seen only one other one. I was discussing the B-24s with a coworker, an older gentleman just a few days prior. He meets with a group of guys for breakfast and one of them was a tail gunner on a B-24 during WWII. I am intrigued with these planes.

I think it was 2002 when a B-24 owned by the Collins Foundation was up here along with there sister B-17 for an airshow on the 4th of July. I paid $210.00 to get to fly on it. That was one of the highlights of my life. I have regular pics but nothing digital.

I'd love to see a B-24 Liberator or a PBY Catalina in flight. My dad was a bombardier on those in WWII in the Pacific. Yes, the Navy got a few B-24s from the Army Air Corps.
